    ATD Baton Rouge is looking for our 2015 Community Involvement Program Manager.  This individual plays a key role in identifying strategic community partners for our chapter and fostering relationships with those organizations.     Community Involvement Program Manager

    The Community Involvement Program Manager shall be an ATD Baton Rouge chapter member in good standing. The Community Involvement Program Manager shall:

    ● Serve a term of one calendar year
    ● Leads the Community Involvement committee
    ● Reports to the VP of Marketing & Communications
    ● Assist the VP of Marketing & Communications in promoting ATD’s role in
    workplace learning and performance by identifying and maintaining key
    community partners.

    Responsibilities of the Community Involvement Program Manager are:
    ● Works with VP of Marketing & Communications to identify strategic
    community partners
    ● Develops and maintains relationships with community partners
    ● Recommends ways for ASTDBR to develop and partner with community
    partners on an ongoing basis
    ● Works with Professional Development program manager, chapter board, and community partners to plan and execute a community event that promotes workplace learning and performance

    ATD Baton Rouge is looking for our 2015 Professional Development Program Manager.  This individual plays a key role in our annual professional development event and serves as the chair for the professional development program committee.     Professional Development Program Manager

    The Professional Development Program Manager shall be an ATD Baton Rouge chapter member in good standing. The Professional Development Program Manager shall:

    ● Serve for one calendar year
    ● Lead the Professional Development committee
    ● Reports to the VP of Programs
    ● Assist the VP of Programs by planning and executing professional development events for the chapter.

    Responsibilities of the Professional Development Program Manager and the
    Professional Development Committee are:

    ● Arrange for special professional development opportunities for chapter members and guests
    ● Chair committee to arrange for facilities, equipment, food, registration, speaker booking, sponsorship, marketing, vendors (if applicable), book sales (if applicable), and any/all other logistical needs to conduct a successful professional development conference or workshop
    ● Identify relevant topics and appropriate/qualified speakers for special programs.
    ● Utilize membership survey results in future planning
    ● Negotiate contract with speaker or speaker agency in coordination with
    President, Treasurer, and other members of Board or President’s Council as
    determined by President.
    ● Work with President, VP of Programs, and Board of Directors in scheduling the event
    ● Work with the Treasurer to plan and execute an event budget
    ● Work with Committee, VP of Programs, VP of Marketing/Communications and VP of Technology to develop and execute an event marketing strategy
    ● Collect from speaker: any special room set up requests, equipment needed, bio, program description which includes learning objectives and head shot photograph
    ● Understand and reply to questions regarding the benefits of membership
    ● Ensure speaker knows time frames, estimated attendance and audience
    description
    ● The primary goal of the event is to provide professional development
    opportunities for the membership. If a revenue goal has not specifically been commissioned by the Board of Directors, the Committee is by default
    commissioned to ensure the event supports itself by breaking even.
    ● Perform whatever roles and responsibilities that are necessary to meet chapter goals as requested by the President.

    The Special Interest Groups (SIG) Program Manager shall be an ASTD Baton Rouge chapter member in good standing. The SIG Program Manager shall:

    • Serve a term of one calendar year
    • Leads the SIG committee
    • Reports to the VP of Programs
    • Assist the VP of Programs by identifying and implementing specialized content programs for chapter members.

    Responsibilities of the SIG Program Manager are:

    • Identifies opportunities for specialized content programs, called SIGs
    • Leverages ASTD Communities of Practice as a guide for creating and promoting SIGs
    • Works with President, VP of Programs, and VP of Membership to engage chapter members as SIG leaders
    • Works with SIG leaders to organize informal meetings for SIG participants
    • Communicates scheduled SIG events to VP of Programs and VP of Technology

    Description:             The Treasurer serves as a board officer for the ASTDBR chapter and serves as the custodian of all chapter funds.  This role is expected to keep accurate records of all income and expenditures for the chapter.  The Treasurer works with chapter leaders to develop, implement, and manage chapter budgets for operations and professional development events.  The individual in this position is expected to manage all payments and receivables, check chapter mailbox for incoming payments, and make bank deposits as necessary.

    Time Commitment:      Expect to devote about 15 hours per month on average, including reconciling bank statements, preparing and presenting chapter financial reports, making bank deposits, and attending monthly board meetings and chapter meetings.

    Requirements:           The Treasurer must be a member in good standing with the ASTDBR chapter and ASTD National organizations. The individual in this role is expected to embrace and use technology to enhance operations.

    Volunteer Position:   Event Photographers

    Positions Available:   5

    Description:            Do you have a passion for photography?  The chapter is looking for individuals willing to document our monthly meetings and other events.  Individuals in this role will be able to bring along a camera to events and snap candid and/or posed shots of other members.  Volunteers in this role must be willing to share photographs in our chapter publications, such as our website, newsletters, and social media sites, like Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn.

    Time Commitment:      Individuals in this role generally attend at least 2 - 3 chapter events throughout the year.  They own their own cameras and can arrive at events early to take pictures as needed.

    Volunteer Position:    Program Coordinator

     

    Positions Available:    3

     

                 Description:     Do you have a passion to help find great speakers for our chapter’s monthly meetings?  Do you enjoy creating creative ways to get feedback from others about chapter events? Volunteers in this role will be responsible for assisting the VP of Programs with finding and booking great chapter programs.  In addition, this role also looks for new ways to get feedback from our event attendees, so programs can continue to improve.

     

    Time Commitment:      Individuals in this position generally attend at least 3 monthly meetings during the year and can arrive at the meeting facility by 11:15 AM to prepare to greet and direct attendees.

                 Description:            Do you enjoy writing about topics important to workplace learning and performance professionals?  Do you enjoy reviewing and editing written publications?  Volunteers in this role will work with the VP of Publications to gather content and proof quarterly newsletters.

     

    Time Commitment:                Expect to devote no more than 2 hours per month preparing newsletter content and working with ASTD Baton Rouge board members.
